SGES would love to thank Kaiden for such an incredible job interviewing. He was so professional and took the initiative to even come up with some questions of his own!
What is your favorite child’s book?
Olivia, because when my kids were little it was their favorite book to read them before they went to bed. They used to crack up every time we said mushy gaga.
What made you choose your job?
Well if I’m going to be honest, I grew up in a family that said “go to work!” and while I regret not going to college, doing my job has given me a lot of joy over the years. Seeing kids laughing and enjoying themselves and having fun has been wonderful. I’m glad I chose it.
What is a secret talent you have that we don’t know?
Well I have a couple of them! I’d say number 1, I am a very good cook and I love to cook and the other is that I’m a pretty good golfer. My favorite thing to make is meatballs. (It was at this moment, Kaiden hopped in and suggested,”maybe spaghetti and meatballs?” and they high fived and decided that spaghetti and meatballs was the best.
If you could have one superpower what would it be and why?
My superpower would probably be to be able to heal. Well it’s funny, any time that my kids had pain I used to say I wish I could take it away and feel it myself so they didn’t have to. So, if I could heal people and make them feel good, that would be my favorite thing to do.
If you could go on a field trip anywhere where would you go?
My bucket list is Italy; I love the culture there. Again, because I love cooking, I know some people have gone and it’s an amazing place to try a bunch of different foods. And then with all of the history there, it would be an amazing place to go. There’s the roman colosseum, and a lot of really good history there that you hear about and it’d be great to see.
(Kaiden jumped in and brought up a trip he took to New York and the two discussed how Dan once went and tried every piece of pizza he could find until he found a little unknown place he has since dubbed as “the best in New York”.)
What do you love most about your job?
What I love most about my job is seeing the kids in the intensive needs room develop and make so much progress while they are here. I know that they struggle sometimes and it gives me joy to see all that we do that can help them and then all of the progress they make.
